What is the house's edge on this site❓️
The house edge on MoneroDice is in a range of a few percent and depends on the chosen multiplier. This cut helps us fund expensive costs, such as the server, the website itself, and so on. Once our costs are covered, all profits go to Monero core development.
How can I play MoneroDice❓️
- Provide your Monero address to which your winnings will be sent;
- Choose your win multiplier & odds;
- Choose Dice mode: fast or provable (detailed explanation below);
- Send Monero to the indicated address;
- The system will safely pick the lucky numbers;
- Your win will be sent back to the Monero address you provided.
You place a bet by sending Monero to the indicated address. MoneroDice sees this and evaluates win or lose. If you win, your bet is multiplied by the prize multiplier and that amount is sent back automatically to the address you provided. No registration is required!
Why two modes of MoneroDice: fast and provable❓️
MoneroDice fast mode operates with zero confirmations. The result is known after a dozen or so seconds, as soon as the transaction is seen in the pool. Once the server picks up the broadcast it will roll the dice to select the lucky numbers using a cryptographically secure pseudorandom number generator.
MoneroDice provable fair mode roll is calculated from transaction id and transaction timestamp which is also the timestamp for the block that confirmed this transfer (for a transaction not yet mined this timestamp would indicate the time it was sent). Because the transaction needs to be fully confirmed before the roll evaluation, it takes significantly longer to process.
- Concatenate transaction ID and transaction timestamp;
- Generate SHA-256 hash from that concatenation in hexadecimal format;
- Convert that hexadecimal representation to a senary numeral system;
- Take the last six digits and increase all of them by one to get the final result.
I've sent Monero to the provided address and I win, but I forgot to add a payback address and my transaction is stuck as "Win, no payback address". What should I do❓️
If your browser session is still active, you can add your payback address. Your wins will be sent to you after a few minutes. Make sure that the payback address is valid (valid address results in green ✓ after the address). If this doesn't help, write a message to support with any proof that this was your transaction. It will be handled by support, usually within a day.
